Stop cookies tracking you in Firefox

The latest version of Firefox for Android (www.snipca.com/45446) adds a welcome privacy feature called Total Cookie Protection, which stops cookies following you around the web. The option has been available in the Firefox desktop browser since 2021 and works by creating a separate ‘cookie jar’ for each site you visit. This prevents cookies from tracking you to other sites and sharing your data with third parties such as advertisers.

Total Cookie Protection is part of Firefox’s Enhanced Tracking Protection, but only works when that feature is set to Strict mode (see screenshot below). To activate it, tap the three-dot menu button in the bottom-right corner of the mobile browser and choose Settings. Select ‘Enhanced Tracking Protection’ and switch the mode from Standard to Strict.
