My life so far has two chapters: before Africa and in Africa. I met my husband, Alex, when I was 23 in the garden of a backpackers in Rosebank. We were at the beginning of a round-the-world trip. I was loafing by the pool wearing a yellow bikini, reading a glamour model’s autobiography when in the background, he asked me on a date. I was so nervous that I invited many other backpackers to accompany us to the restaurant.
