NOTES
■ We recommend making a toile of the bodice if you want to use a woven fabric as we can’t guarantee a great fit.
■ We recommend using a fabric that is 150cm wide because of the width of the pattern pieces – you may be able to use narrower fabric for sizes 6-16, but you may need to reduce the amount of flare in the skirt.
■ Please allow more fabric if you would like to pattern match or if your fabric has a directional print.
■ Hem frill: the frill is a very long piece, which is why the grain line on the pattern piece is parallel to the selvedge of the fabric. If you have a print and you want to make sure the print direction is the same on the dress and on the frill, you can fold the hem frill pattern in half and lay it with the short sides parallel to the selvedge. Then cut four pieces instead of two.
FABRIC RECOMMENDATIONS
■ Light- to medium-weight fabrics with plenty of drape and movement such as viscose, Tencel, or crêpe.
