Two of a kind

Leaping off the slide, Claudia raced across the playground toward her twin brother Robin with her palms held high.

‘Paw paw…’ she called.

‘Paw paw…’ Robin grinned, hands held in a mirror image before throwing his arms around his sister.

Their special greeting.

It was summer 2020, and smiling, I watched them skip over to play on the swings.

My twins had spent two weeks in special care, after being born two months premature in November 2013.

A worrying time, especially for a single mum.

But now look at them!

Watching their bond warmed my heart.

‘It's lovely they have each other,’ I told my sister Jayne, then 42.
