Treasures from Tibet

THE TIBETAN Plateau is dear to the hearts of Paola Vanzo and Andrea Dominici. While working for non-profit organisations supporting the nomadic communities of Tibet’s vast, high-altitude grasslands, they developed a strong connection to the country’s people and their traditions.

They also gained a deep understanding of Tibetan culture - including the origins of sustainable yak and cashmere yarns, which use practices honed by nomadic communities over centuries. Inspired by their experiences, they co-founded the ethical yarn brand mYak. We spoke with Paola and Andrea to discover the story of their brand, and how it honours Tibetan culture while adopting high-quality Italian yarn manufacturing processes.

You describe your brand has being born in Tibet, and crafted in Italy. What is the mission behind mYak?
