HUAWEI’S NEW ROTATING CHAIR

Meng Wanzhou, an executive of telecommunications technology giant Huawei, has been appointed the rotating chair of its board of directors, effective on April 1.

Meng, Huawei’s Chief Financial Officer and Deputy Chairperson, is the daughter of its founder and CEO Ren Zhengfei. She joined Huawei in 1993 and has held a number of financial and accounting positions. She spent nearly three years in detention in Canada over a questionable and ultimately dismissed case filed by the U.S. before returning to China in 2021.
