As I opened my eyes one morning, I could tell something wasn’t quite right.
I felt so disoriented, and my lips were so sore.
Sitting up in bed, I spotted some blood on my pillow – it was like I chewed through my lip and tongue in the night.
It felt sore and my tongue was a little swollen.
But I couldn’t remember doing that.
Have I had a fit? I wondered.
Getting out of bed, I put any worries to the back of my mind – aside from my sore lips I felt fine, and besides, I had to get ready for work.
Living on my own meant I didn’t have anyone to confide in and just had to get on with it.
In January 2021, I had been working as a key worker at ASDA for the past year.
And it had been stressful.
Stacking shelves as others panic bought loo roll and household goods meant I was rushed off my feet.
