NASHVILLE SHOOTING SHOCKER
US gun laws in spotlight again
PRESIDENT Joe Biden renewed his request for stricter gun control laws following the murder of six people at a primary school in Nashville, Tennessee.
“We must do more to stop gun violence. I call on Congress again to pass my assault weapons ban,” he says.
Although some US senators supported passing legislation that would expand background checks for gun purchases, Biden has been unable to get the 60 votes he needs from the 100-seat Senate to pass it into law.
In the latest shooting incident, three children, all aged nine, were killed along with three teachers when Audrey Hale (28) stormed into the school and started opening fire.
