Breaking the ice

It’s minus 6°C here this morning. Four inches of new snow on the ground. My Guzzi is on the trickle charger in our garage, its odometer showing 47,000 miles. I rode it fewer miles in 2022 than in any recent year… and I’m not sure why. I was healthy, it had no mechanical woes, and the riding season was long and temperate. I only left Colorado once, to ride to tiny Cedar Vale, Kansas, for a sparsely attended Guzzi rally. Except for that one journey, 600 miles each way, I took day rides, often with one club or another.
