There is no time when Murphy's law is illustrated as clearly as in the morning when you are desperately trying to leave your house early enough to sort of get to school and work on time. What can go wrong, will go wrong: a lost shoe, missing keys or Jason getting upset because your choice and his choice of clothes don't match. The chaos of such a morning unfortunately often sets the pace for the rest of the day: If you all walk out of the house exhausted, upset and irritated with each other, it's hard to walk into work or school fresh and cheerful.

A calmer morning routine is like the foundation of the day: if it's right, the rest of the day will also go more easily.
