My story

I've never really loved new-builds, but we were ready to buy, and this house suited us price- and size-wise. When we moved in, it was very much a land of magnolia – very uninspiring and such a challenge to decorate. For the first five or six years, we coasted in terms of doing any work to the house. I always tried to create a cosy, joyful space wherever I could, but as we were juggling full-time jobs and young children, it wasn't so much of a priority back then.

I think I began to take on the decorating with a degree of enthusiasm over the last two or three years, and it's allowed us to create a home we now fully love – one we feel invested and immersed in. Once I know the direction I'm going in
