Q I would like to make some overpayments on my mortgage but how do I know what the benefits would be?

A Try using a mortgage overpayment calculator like Yorkshire Building Society’s (). It lets you input your current mortgage amount, remaining mortgage term and monthly payments. You can then add how much you’d like to overpay as a regular amount or lump sum and it will calculate how much interest you would save and how much faster you would pay
