Sitting amongst 15 acres of green grass on North 99th Street in Kansas City, the Jones’ single storey, four-bedroom home was in a dream location.
With a swimming pool outside, pigs located near a barn and rolling countryside, it was the perfect setting for Michael Jones, 46, and his wife Heather Jones, 31, to raise their children.
Having six girls together, Michael also had another child from a previous relationship, seven-year-old Adrian Jones.
Known to have a smile that would light up any room, Adrian was an inquisitive little boy, home-schooled alongside his siblings.
And coined as ‘perfect tenants’ by their landlord, it seemed that Michael and Heather wanted the best for their children.
