PEREZ PICKS UP WHERE VERSTAPPEN HAD LEFT OFF

While Sergio Perez said his fifth Formula 1 victory was one of the best performances of his career, it was also one of his easiest. His route to the top step of the Saudi Arabian podium was aided by his team-mate’s broken driveshaft in qualifying.

But such is the dominance of this year’s Red Bull, many expected Max Verstappen to still finish on the podium after starting a lowly 15th on the grid. And he did, five seconds behind Perez at the flag.
