While these DIY fixes help produce feelings of relaxation and tranquillity, there are certain guidelines that apply.

1 Always do a patch test first.

2 Avoid it if you’re allergic or sensitive to a particular ingredient, if you’re pregnant or breastfeeding or if you have underlying health conditions (consult with a doctor first).

3 Avoid applying anything to the sensitive eye area as it’s more prone to reaction.

4 Don’t mix tea tree oil and lemon juice together as they can irritate the skin, leading to post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

5 Don’t mix ginger with turmeric. It can irritate sensitive skin.
