Pride of Bilbao

What a delight to see that the P&O ship on which I served as Second Engineer during the millennium celebrations, Pride of Bilbao, has had a full refit and, after 36 years of service, continues in full service (SM, Feb). It was somewhat amusing that, during my six-year stint on her, I served with a fellow Engineer who casually stated that the vessel was equipped with the French-built SEMT Pielstick engines, and he stated that SEMT stood for ‘Simple Engineering Made Tricky’.
