AROUND THE GARDEN

Look for weeds in brick paths

Scrape out weeds from between the gaps in brick or block paths. Extract them carefully with as much root as possible to prevent regrowth. Most paving weeds grow from seeds that have blown in and germinated on the debris between the cracks.

Brush up the debris regularly and remove any weeds in the surrounding areas as they could be causing the problem. Fill the bigger gaps by brushing in a dry mix of sand and cement, which will set and prevent more seeds from germinating.
