NORTH WEST ENGLAND

NATURAL GEM

YORKSHIRE DALES

The Ard Rock Enduro Festival has helped put the Dales on the MTB map with its signature scenic rocky riding and warm welcome. This upland area of the Pennines has myriad trails across its 2,179km2 of moors, valleys and hills, with glorious riding in all directions and something for all tastes and abilities. The Swaledale area, in particular, has a good network of rights-of-way for mountain bikers, offering an option of different routes through this changeable landscape, which varies from lush green, rolling countryside to desolate grey, rocky moonscapes. Its limestone rock drains well, too.
