Cocaine seized

Metropolitan Police officers have seized 350kg of cocaine and the small boat it was found on, in an operation supported by the National Crime Agency and Border Force.

Detectives from Scotland Yard deployed to Eastbourne, Sussex, on 18 February where they intercepted the vessel, a Kingfisher Sports Explorer, at approximately 2215 as it moored in the harbour.

The drugs have an estimated street value of £35 million.

The operation took place after officers received intelligence on the boat’s suspicious movements in the English Channel. Three men were arrested, charged and remanded
