Gosport sailor awarded MBE

Paul Bishop has been made a Member of the British Empire (MBE) for his career as a professional sailor, which he has used to enhance the lives of young people over four decades of involvement with Tall Ships Races and the Sail Training International charity.

Paul said: “The charity has done some amazing work since it started in 1956 and although it is an individual award, it really highlights all of the work the charity does.”

Paul encouraged young people with a sense of adventure to book on a sail training voyage and make 2023 a year to remember.
