Unnecessary and unjustified

THE PASSING of the Hunting with Dogs (Scotland) Bill has left grey areas for rough shooters and onerous legislation for Scottish packs. Some argued that we should try to ‘kill the bill’ but this simply was not possible. Until a bill is passed it cannot be legally challenged. Instead, our best option was to work with the Scottish government to educate MSPs and ministers to try to steer the bill in the right direction, ensuring that the result was something that our sector could use to effectively manage wildlife for years to come.
