THIRTY-odd years ago, I attended French language evening classes at the French Institute in Edinburgh. While my school French was OK, I wanted to get better. One of my fellow students asked the tutor what the phrase would be to indicate that she was “waiting with impatience” for her wedding. A shame, really, because the marriage didn’t last… but the phrase was . And the relevance here, you ask? Simple. and my impatience has been well rewarded.
