Five-year upgrade for Blackpool depot as ‘soap star’ tram returns

A FIVE-year vision for the Blackpool Tramway’s Rigby Road depot, known asTramtown, has been revealed as the heritage seafront tram tour operator seeks to better conserve and present its historic fleet.

A £70,000 appeal has been launched to aid the purchase of new shed doors as part of the first phase of the work on the 1935 building, the only one of its type in the UK still in operation.

The heritage tram and depot tours receive more than 500,000 visitors each year. The plan has been developed
