HOW’S THAT FOR SIZE

Just look at what Matchbox made of their caterpillar tractor as you scoop one of these up into the palm of your hand – and wonder! Wonder how they captured all that detail into such a tiny metal toy and marvel at how close one of these mimics the real thing. Imagine the clatter of steel grousers and the squeal as a real machine spun turn, the ease at which the giant rig dug into the steepest of hillsides, the short shrift given on the toughest of ground conditions come rain or shine.

Lesney

A British company called Lesney made Matchbox Toys and their business was established in 1947 by two ex-servicemen, Leslie Smith,slack and one of these was a tiny road roller for his daughter to play with, then later took it to school in an old matchbox to show her friends. And so, the legend goes.
