Highly detailed stilllife paintings tend to fall into one of two categories. First we have the photorealists who, as the title suggests, work from photographs or an image on a screen. Then we have those who set the arrangement up and paint from life as I do, creating a trompe l’oeil image giving the illusion of three dimensions.

It’s easy to slip into a paint repeat rhythm of arrangements on a tabletop full beard and, with hairdressers closed, my hair got rather long. But I also painted some different still-life paintings.
