In the heart of Tasmania's Central Highlands, 174km west of Hobart, stands the tiny village of Derwent Bridge, home of one of the most extraordinary artworks in the island state – The Wall in the Wilderness, created by artist and master craftsman, Greg Duncan.

‘The Wall’ isthe Lyell Highway 2km east of the village, as his ‘piece of paradise’, abounding with wildlife and a rich assemblage of high-country flora, a place that is not only home but also the source of “all the subject matter a bloke needs”.
