SCREEN QUEEN

Jessica Taylor has created the looks for some of TV’s best-loved characters, having worked on shows such as Coronation Street, Emmerdale and Last Tango in Halifax and become head of make-up at ITV in 2013.

“I always wanted to do it, from when I was young,” she tells HELLO!. “Having trained as a hairdresser, I got taken on at Granada Television in 1995 and was trained by Dave Myers, now of The Hairy Bikers – he used to be a make-up artist!”

Among her many credits was. “Creating the Tommy Lee Royce character was brilliant,” she says. “James Norton [who played the role] had been working in South Africa with these hair extensions. We only had a day with him before filming so he came straight to my house and I took out the extensions and decided to bleach his hair.
