Your KITCHEN

Day one, and if you can conquer the kitchen – often the home’s clutter magnet – then the rest of our challenge will seem easy.

1 THINK HOW YOU USE IT

Is your kitchen set up for the way you live today? Are there annoying congestion zones? Do you have serveware rather than everyday crockery in the most-used cupboards? Has your island become a messy WFH office? Before you start tidying, observe how your kitchen is used and solve any problem areas.

Are rarely-if-never-used small appliances and gadgets lurking in the back of your kitchen cupboards? Ask yourself if you’ll use this again/did you ever use it? If the answer is no, then liberate that cupboard for something else.

3 TACKLE THAT PROBLEM DRAWER

Every kitchen has one, whether it’s the utensils drawer, the useful-stuff drawer, or the saucepan drawer. Take everything out and only put back what you need or use. Use drawer organisers to help keep it tidy, and stack pans with felt liners to help max out the storage in saucepan drawers.
