Q We’re finally in a position to buy our own house – how long do mortgage offers last for?

A This varies by lender, but mortgage offers usually last between three and six months. However, some financial companies start the clock when the offer is issued. Other lenders may count the time from the application date. And others will have completion deadlines instead. So ensure you check this carefully.
