Boost for St Bart’s treasured art

Britain’s oldest working hospital is to be given a much-needed injection of funding to help restore and conserve its incredible interiors.

Barts Heritage has been awarded £4.9m by The National Lottery Heritage Fund ahead of St Bartholomew’s Hospital’s 900th anniversary this year. The funding will go towards the Sharing Historic Barts project, which will see parts of the Grade I listed North Wing of the hospital, which includes the spectacular Hogarth Stair (pictured), opened to the public.
