PRESENT AND NOW CORRECT

Gazing on Trevor Sherwood’s beautiful Series 2 E-Type coupe takes me back over four decades to my second E – a twin in model and external colour, but it would take spectacles of a very deep rose tint for me to believe the condition was similar.

As is often the case, Jaguar ownership tends to be something of an illness, once the bug has been contracted – there is rarely a permanent cure. The initial infection came in the shape of a 2005 S-Type 2.7 diesel, so taken was Trevor taken with the car, that he used it as his ‘daily driver’ up to a total mileage of 140k – hitherto, he had only kept vehicles for maximum of 30k. In 2016, a Lexus LC assumed the daily role, but Trevor needed another Jaguar in his life: Fortuitously, in 2010, Trevor saw an XK 5.0 coupe advertised by H.A Fox in Guildford with only 3k ‘on the clock’ after a short negotiation a deal was done.
