WHETHER WE ARE popping a tiny cross-pole or tackling a huge course, we all want the same thing — namely a horse who will willingly oblige and make the whole thing fun. But there's a fine line between gung ho enthusiasm and completely relinquishing your brakes, so it's a case of honing our skills in the saddle so that we can pilot a safe, controlled round, leaving the poles up and our confidence intact.
