NO MATTER WHO you are, every rider has something that makes them nervous. Whether that occurs in the build up to a competition, when heading out for a hack, or while getting back on after a fall, it is natural to have butterflies, feel anxiety in the pit of your stomach, or those annoying nagging doubts in your mind. But what if you were able to pause, take a breath and stop those feelings from spiralling out of control by turning them down or even switching them off completely? “Hypnotherapy is different to other types of coaching because it gives you a way of dialling up and down your emotions,” explains master hypnotherapist Julia McHugh. “It's called the control room.”
