Classic bikes are ULEZ exempt

If you are a regular at the famous Ace Cafe, just off London’s North Circular, it’ll be best to use your classic motorcycle from August. At present, the Ace Café building is not within the Ultra Low Emission Zone – but if you travel to or from the cafe from within the North Circular or South Circular Road on a non-exempt motorcycle, you could be liable to pay £12.50 per visit.

From August, a new ULEZ comes into force covering the whole of the city. Good news is bikes more than 40 years old and classed as historic on the logbook will be exempt! It will work the same way as the MoT rules introduced in 2018, which takes the cut-off date as exactly 40 years on a rolling basis.
