“Your body is not an ornament, it’s the vehicle to your dreams.”

Those were the words of body image activist Taryn Brumfitt that adorned our Issue 32 cover back in 2016, along with an image of Taryn herself. Her documentary Embrace, a social impact film created to help change the way we feel about ourselves and our bodies, had only been released a few months earlier. It touched a nerve with many, myself included. Fast-forward to today, and Taryn has just been named Australian of the Year for her incredibly important work.
