2023 EVENTS PREVIEW

With spring just around the corner, a new classic show season is about to start – so it’s time to get planning! Which events are you likely to be attending this year? There’s certainly plenty going on, and it’s never too early to pre-order your tickets – or to at least make a note in your diary.

Over the next few pages, we’re previewing some of the most important classic events of 2023, revealing what makes them so special, as well as how to get involved. Whether your interest lies in classic motorsport, concours competitions, hillclimbs or road trips, there’s plenty to entertain you this year.

Complementing these national events is, of course, an abundance of regional shows and get-togethers, from social nights at the Ace Café to monthly meet-ups in your local pub car park. They form a major part of the classic vehicle scene, attracting like-minded folk and giving everyone a chance to get together for a chat. It’s great for our mental health and reinforces our love of the classic car scene, so what have you got to lose? Check out social media and see what’s happening in your area.

Meanwhile, let’s take a look at some of the major shows and events of 2023…

London Classic Car Show

 February 24-26

Now in its ninth year, the London Classic Car Show returns to Olympia for 2023. The main theme of the event is ‘Generations’, a tribute to the legendary models celebrating milestone anniversaries. In 2023 these include 60 years of the Porsche 911, 70 years of Corvette, and ‘Fortysomethings’, such as the BMW E24 M635CSi, Mk2 VW Golf and Peugeot 205.

A Barn Finds & Survivors section will focus on cars in need of restoration, while Endangered Species will celebrate those vehicles becoming rarer each year. A Young Turks display will make predictions for future classics, as well as looking back to see whether the predictions made 10 and 20 years ago of what would make a desirable classic today were correct.
