THE WEST COAST FOUNDATION

Mount Westmore—the West Coast conglomerate comprised of E-40, Too $hort, Ice Cube, and Snoop Dogg—arrived with a resounding “biiiiiiatch” in 2020 as the pandemic wreaked havoc on the globe. Sidelined by the concert industry’s abrupt shutdown, the four hip-hop legends were left with time on their hands that they simply weren’t used to having. So instead of stewing in their forced hiatus, they got on the phone and formed a supergroup.

“I get a call during the early part of the quarantine from E-40 and Ice Cube going, ‘Man, we feel like we should do an album,’” Too $hort told the podcast in December 2020. “Like me, you… it’s E-40, Cube, Too $hort, and Snoop Dogg. And I’m like, ‘E-40 and Too $hort from the Bay, Snoop Dogg and Cube are from L.A., and we like the West Coast foundation.’ We sat there and was like, ‘Fuck it, let’s do it.’ So, we
