On a cabinet in our dining area is a quirky moss-green porcelain bowl with a tiny red house on an elevated island in the centre, which I brought home from New York's Museum of Modern Art (MoMA). It has a name too: the La Maison Inondée bowl, and it's a staple conversation starter at any dinner party. It brings back fond memories of a wonderful trip, and how elated and happy I was when I got the last one of that season's batch, and what a hassle it was having it in my hand luggage.
