SPLIT PERSONALITY

It is hardly a secret that the one thing the modern MG range has lacked has been a sports car; people can argue until they are blue in the face about the merits or otherwise of the need for an MG to have two or four seats, or to have an open top or a conventional roof, but inevitably the debate about the credibility of the marque will not be stifled unless and until there is a new contender in the category of which MG was once the leading exponent.

It is well known that SAIC, owner of MG for more than a decade, has declared its ambition to fill this gap in the range and, having shown the world an exciting concept for a futuristic all-electric MG sports car, has further hinted that a production version will be unveiled in the not-too-distant future.
