Learning objectives

This month we continue our marine life painting series in acrylics with a nautilus shell on a sandy background that is created using a sponging technique. We will introduce the concept of painting on a coloured ground, practise using transfer paper to trace a drawing of the shell, and the fundamental acrylic painting technique of drybrush blending of highlights and shadows.
