I’ve always liked natural gardens, and my aim here was to attract as many insects as possible”

After initially renting their home and gardening in containers, this couple eventually bought the house and set about transforming the garden. With a lifelong passion for gardening, John, a lecturer in neuroscience, relished the opportunity to fill every inch with pollinatorattracting plants. He particularly loves combining different forms and heights to create a feeling of being enveloped by the garden. It’s something visitors love too, when they open each summer for the National Garden Scheme.
