Usually, I share magazines or online publications in this column, but the world of publishing is much broader than that. So, let’s look at a few interesting book publishers this time around.

Books usually have many more words than a magazine article—though a few of the following publishers accept lower word counts. Likewise, the submission and publication processes are usually more involved, because of the time and money invested in one piece of writing.

However, books (even digital books) tend to have a longer “shelf” life because of the time that everyone puts into the project. And the people who read books tend to get more invested in the author and their work moving forward, which is probably why so
