MEMBERS OF THE CLERGY AND MARTIAL ACTIVITIES MARTIAL EXPERTS

Martial experts were craftsmen with technical knowledge who devoted part of their activities to martial endeavours for compensation (money, social recognition, social capital). Some of them originated from the town itself and managed to make part of their living on their activities; others were travelling experts who were hired by the town. Contrary to general assumptions, among these experts were also clerics.
