The first thing to be said about the Classic Sports Car Club is that you shouldn’t necessarily jump to conclusions based on its name.
“Yeah you’re right,” CSCC director David Smitheram tells Motorsport News on this subject. “The logo is so well known now, we don’t want to meddle with any kind of rebrand. But knowing what we know now 20 years ago we probably wouldn’t have called it Classic Sports Car Club because we have as many modern series as we do classics. We just moved with the times and the trends.”
CSCC these days has an eclectic range of categories – old and new as noted – which largely are built around 40-minute pitstop races.
