Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 Ti

SCORE

PRICE From £666 (£799 inc VAT) from store.nvidia.com

The RTX 4070 Ti is a card that shouldn’t have been. Not yet, at least. Nvidia originally launched this as a 12GB version of the RTX 4080 (see issue 340, p62), but the negative media and public reaction to its specs and proposed£949pricemeantitwas rapidly “unlaunched”. So, the core specs and hardware haven’t changed; only the RTX 4070 Ti name and reduced price are new.

But, compared to previous GeForce cards with a 70 suffix, its price sets an unwelcome precedent. The GTX 970 cost around £259, rising to £399 for the GTX 1070, then £469 for the RTX 2070 and 3070. The launch price of the 3070 Ti was £529.
