While many of us dreamed of being a Jedi as kids, few of us would have wished for Cal Kestis’ journey. In the first game we met him in hiding from an Empire that wanted his kind dead, and despite his hard-earned victory to keep a list of Force-senstive children hidden, when we pick back up with him in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor it’s clear things have only become tougher. Including growing a formidable beard, which can’t be easy to maintain as an outlaw.

“A lot’s happened in the past five years, y’know?” says game director Stig Asmussen when we ask about this. “Cal’s been on the run. He’s matured as a Jedi Knight but he’s also experienced some things that have left their mark on him. He’s feeling that weight of being one of the last Jedi and being hunted, and I think his physical appearance showcases that.”
