STRUGGLING AGAINST THE ELEMENTS

As natural disasters wreaked havoc across the globe, communities came together to share aid and provide relief. Following the eruption of submarine volcano Hunga Tonga–Hunga Ha’apai on January 14, the art organization TBA21-Academy encouraged donations to the online campaign for Tonga launched by the athlete Pita Taufatofua and the International Red Cross.

In Pakistan, where devastating floods and in Islamabad organized a fundraising exhibition featuring around 70 artists from September 3–16. In New York, put up works donated by more than 70 artists for a disaster-relief live auction on September 30, raising USD 85,000.
