What have I got myself into? I thought.
It was September 2017, and my partner Reece and I had moved to Fort Grey, NSW, to take part in the Wild Deserts project. The aim was to bring the Strzelecki Desert back to life, reintroducing native animals that’d been wiped out from the area.
