• Plymouth Yarn Encore medium (worsted) weight acrylic/wool yarn (3½ oz/200 yds/100g per ball): 4 balls #1232 light greenhouse 3 balls #1233 greenhouse 2 balls #1231 pale greenhouse 1 ball each #1308 beach berry and #1033 medium lavender
• Size J/10/6mm crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge
• Locking stitch markers (6 or more)
GAUGE
In gauge swatch: 17 dc = 6 inches Exact gauge is not critical for this project.
PATTERN NOTES
Pattern begins with a multiple of 8 + 3 sts. A chain of 27 will work if you plan to swatch.
Worked in 4 panels crocheted together.
Do not remove markers until instructed.
Work over loose ends where feasible as work progresses or weave in later. In either case, leave enough tail to double back with needle to weave into worked-over part to help keep ends secure during washing.
To help avoid tangles in rows 2 and 4, when switching colors, always pick up the first color behind carried yarn and pick up the second color in front of (under) carried yarn.
Check often in rows 9, 11 and especially 13 to make sure each double crochet or single crochet group alternates with a pair of chain spaces.
Join by inserting hook in indicated stitch, placing slip knot on hook and pulling loop through.
