Most of you who know me will know that I cut my teeth boat fishing in the Thames Estuary, where 90 per cent of the fishing was uptiding, especially during the winter months.
It’s a method I have used all my life, and as such I quite often like to be positioned along either side of the boat rather than at the stern.
On a recent trip out with my mate, Roger Cooling, who skippers ‘Bowline Charters Grimsby’ I managed to draw myself at the stern, and that led me down the dark and distant path of downtiding in order to keep my lines out of the way of the other anglers on board.
DIFFERENT TACTICS
I must admit that I really didn’t mind where I fished on this particular day afloat. It
